Qiyuan’s consumer robots pass 10,000 units off the line
On November 8, Qiyuan Robotics, the consumer robotics brand of listed materials company Swancor Advanced Materials, rolled its 10,000th personal robot off the line. The finished-goods plant began mass production in October. After the 5,000th unit on October 25, it took only 14 days to reach 10,000. The factory pairs automotive-grade quality control with the precision assembly methods of consumer electronics, a setup meant to keep quality consistent at this volume.
Qiyuan has two personal robots on sale, both launched on September 20. The Q1 stands 88 centimeters tall, folds into a backpack, and has 22 compliant force-controlled degrees of freedom. Owners can customize structural parts as well as interactive motions, personality, posture, and voice. It sells for 19,999 yuan, or 26,999 yuan for the Explorer edition. The T1 is about 100 centimeters tall and 16 kilograms, and can switch between a wheeled humanoid stance and a quadruped. Runtime is about two to three hours. It changes form with the terrain and handles obstacle avoidance and identity recognition. The base model is 19,999 yuan; the T1 Pro is 29,999 yuan.
Liu Dongfang, Qiyuan’s co-president and head of the Q business unit, said monthly active usage is above 98 percent, the daily online peak is above 40 percent, average time online is about three hours a day, and each user interacts with the robot more than 100 times a day on average.
