HIT Group reopens Slovenian casinos after cyberattack

Source: Yogonet HIT Group has begun reopening its Slovenian casinos after restoring systems disrupted by a cyberattack.

The casino operator detected the attack overnight on Aug. 24–25, forcing the closure of six properties: Perla, Park, Casino Drive-in, Mond, Korona, and Casino Fontana.

The incident affected hotel reception desks and cash registers at casinos, with some customers receiving handwritten receipts at cafes. The Record reports that some employees were temporarily furloughed because systems needed for normal casino operations were unavailable. HIT later said those workers were returning to work as systems came back online.

HIT began a forensic investigation and notified relevant government institutions and worked with external cybersecurity experts to restore its systems. As of Aug. 31, a notice on the company’s website still said it was operating on a limited basis, with table games and bingo not yet available. Full Story
