Here's a Real-World Look at the New MacBook Pro's Glowing Apple Logo

Surprise!

The new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED displays have a glowing Apple logo, a beloved feature that was phased out a decade ago. In a hands-on video shared on his YouTube channel UrAvgConsumer, Judner Aura showed off the glowing Apple logo and revealed that its brightness is tied to the MacBook Pro's display brightness.

If you turn up the display brightness, the logo gets brighter, and vice versa. The glowing logo worked the same way on older MacBooks. Skip ahead to the one-minute mark of the video to see the glowing Apple logo.

Apple never publicly commented on why it removed the glowing logo, but many customers have long wanted it back, and the company has evidently listened. The new MacBook Pro models are available to pre-order now and launch Friday, November 6.
