Canadian telecom provider Eastlink warns customers of data breach
Source: CBC Telecommunications provider Eastlink is warning customers of a potential data breach.
The company, which operates in seven Canadian provinces and Bermuda, initially sent an email to some affected customers Aug. 28, and it's continuing to notify customers. Eastlink said accounts may have been compromised and exposed information may include customer names, contact details, account numbers and PINs.
The company said that the breach applies to about 75,000 accounts covering internet, television and landline services. after learning of the incident Aug. 26, it shut down affected platforms on its website and mobile app. Eastlink operates in Bermuda through its subsidiary, Link Bermuda. Full Story
